MOhit Lalwani may be best known for his crowd-pleasing performances and heartwarming vocals on Indian Idol 4. Loved by audiences, fellow contestants, and judges alike, MOhit has continued to build on his journey through Idol and reach audiences across the globe. With soul-stirring performances in over 35 countries and in 10 languages, MOhit’s charm and musical prowess crosses all country and language barriers. Afterall, MOhit’s personal motto is, “Music bridges the gap between human and divine.”

 

Born and raised in Delhi on 21st December 1986, MOhit’s journey started in his own hometown where he was trained by Guru Ustad Aftab Ahmed Khan and also became a popular act on the Delhi music scene with his performances with his band Rooh. A graduate of Ramjas College with a degree in music, MOhit has honed his talent from a young age and ultimately gained the attention of Idol judges where he stood out against 80,000 hopefuls for a spot on one of the most sought-after television competitions. After placing as a top finalist on his season, MOhit has continued to harness his passion by learning the guitar and exploring all genres of music including ghazals, folk, Sufi, American pop, and of course, Bollywood.

 

A proud Sindhi, MOhit has been Chief Guest twice for the World Sindhi Sammelan both in the USA and in Jakarta, Indonesia. MOhit’s performances range from intimate and electrifying Sangeet performances to distinguished live shows that have filled some of the largest arenas worldwide. He has performed for our brave soldiers in Jammu & Kashmir and has also been a guest judge at singing competitions for IITs all over the country.

MOhit’s debut as a Bollywood Playback singer was for the film  “Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana”  in the year 2017, where he sang a romantic melody “Rog Jaane” along with Palak Muchhal and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Recently bagged a Gold Award in the India’s Best Live Performer 2018 category at Spotlight  Awards By the Apex body of Events and Experiential Management Association(EEMA). He is established not only as a performer, but is also seen as a mentor and recently Judged Zee TV Asia pacific’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in Hong Kong, where contestants of 18 countries participated.

A resident of Mumbai, he is currently working on the release of his self-produced studio album featuring original tracks that are close to MOhit’s heart. He continues to work on his dream of breaking through as a playback singer. MOhit is also heavily involved in some passion projects, especially through his connection with Dada JP Vaswani and the Sadhu Vaswani Mission. He also performs for charities that are close to his heart, spreading smiles at Tata Memorial Hospital for cancer patients and various orphanages throughout the country.
